Home Visits

Home Visitation Committee

This committee is comprised of a number of ladies from the Parish who volunteer to make visits to the elderly who are unable to attend mass.    The number of volunteers is down from previous years due to age and related illnesses.  We have a number of parishioners who are members of the Elite Ninety's Club. We try to visit some of them at least a couple of times of year, mainly during Advent and again during the Lenten Season.     Fr. Monte Peters, when available, accompanies the volunteers on the visits and performs the Sacrament of the Sick on them and they also receive Holy Communion.  Visits to the Hospital and to York Manor are also made on occasion by the volunteers.  The phone number is published in the Bulletin every week and anyone wanting a visit can call and a team of two will go to visit them. Our visit usually lasts approximately three-quarters to one hour when we engage in a friendly chat with them. During the Advent season they are presented with an Amaryllis plant  from the Parish.
